Researchers now report that people who eat plenty of vitamin C-rich foods have fewer wrinkles than people whose diets contained little of the vitamin.

Vitamin C is an antioxidant, which means that it can combat the effects of free radicals in your body and on your skin. Free radicals are the unstable molecules in the environment that can cause aging of the skin. So, when vitamin C is properly delivered into skin cells, there is a good chance to reduce wrinkles and improve skin texture.
However, eating a bag of oranges every week is not going to bring about the desired results for your skin. In order to see the benefits of vitamin C on the outside of your body, you will need to find a way to combine a healthy diet that is rich in vitamin C with skin care products that contain this important nutrient. Scientists have now discovered how to use a variety of vitamin C derivatives in skin care products that will bring about the same benefits as natural vitamin C with less of the ingredient required for results.
Apart from intake of vitamin c there are also other ways to protect skin from damage and keep it glowing. Free radicals which damage the skin are accumulated due to excessive sun exposure, cigarette smoke and environmental pollutants. Hence, skin has to be protected against these. Have plenty of water, when people are dehydrated wrinkles are much more noticeable. Use sunscreen and a good night moisturizer.

This is a good article. Vitamin C definitly has a major anti aging role on skin wrinkles, most noticibly decreasing signs of skin aging that are due to sun damage.
I use vitamin C in a lot of my skin creams at http://www.drrachelskincare.com
Vitamine C is a powerfull ingredient for anti aging pupose.but take care about exsesive use of it due to some pigmentation problem I am not 100 percent sure.
Pigmentation fault may cause some skin conditions like vitilgio,thyoride etc as I also took info from www.antivitiligo.com
Vitamin C is great for anti-aging! I use Radiant Complexions Dermatology Vitamin C Cream and it makes my skin look fresh and youthful. Radiant Complexions Vitamin C Cream is available for purchase at www.radiantcomplexions.com.
Vitamin C is a very powerful antioxidant that helps your entire body especially your skin. It is good to know that your body can only absorb small amounts at a time. So it is best to consume foods rich in Vitamin C throughout the day to receive the benefits. So those vitamins with 500% daily vitamin C value doesn’t mean your body will absorb all of it.
As a late 30-something, I have to admit that I am starting to notice the effects of time on my skin. When I heard about the postive effects of Vitamin C in skincare products, I did some research and found a good line of products DMademoiselle
Vitamin C Skincare. Two items I really like are the Vibran C Serum and the Firming Eye Gelee.
I have been a long time fan of Vitamin C and its benefits on the skin. Not only does Vitamin C fight free radical damage, it also promotes collagen synthesis and brightens the skin! One problem with Vitamin C is it’s instability, it becomes less effective when it becomes exposed to air or water. One solution to this is to use an anhydrous vitamin c cream or to make a fresh batch of vitamin c cream frequently. It’s very simple. You can get everything you need to make your own skin care products at www.SkinCareByYou.com
This is good news for me.
I love consuming citrus fruits and am always munching on an orange or two. Wonderful article. Will definitely pass it on to all my health-conscious friends who are indulging in fruit facials instead of consuming them!
Fresh fruits are always good for health. But of course, instead of the ready-made fruit juices, one should make it at home. Because the so-called original juices are full of sugar and chemicals. Vitamin C is available in oranges, lemon and more or less in almost all the fruits. That’s easy to get.
Vitamin C in the form of L Ascorbic Acid is wonderful for collagen synthesis. In my clinic we have great success with 2 other fantastic ingredients for collagen and elastin production. They are GHK Copper and Retinol with an AGP complex which allows penetration of the Vitamin A into the dermis with no irritation.You can find out more about these treatments at www.skinmatrix.com.au
I agree with Radhika! Instead of trating your skin with fruit facials n all, we should rather look towards consuming fruits and vegetables that contain Vitamin C so that we develop healthy and glowing skin from within! That constitutes good anti aging skin care
I have seen a huge difference in my skin since I started using vitamin c moisturizer. It’s called kamamyl skin care and my skin is finally hydrated and my wrinkles are not as obvious. Check it out: http://kamamyl.make-a-store.com/cgi-bin/category.cgi?item=600-08&type=store
Nice article. Are there any skin care products that use Vitamin C ingredients specifically?
I have found VivierSkin Vitamin C serums and they are the best in the world!!! They use pharmaceutical grade L-Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) USP (United States Pharmacopias). Their products are tested and manufactured at pharmaceutical standards. Vivier uses their patented micro-encapsulation IDS (Intra-Dermal System) technology to maintain 30 months stability and to get better penetration of their serums. Vitamin-C has to be in a serum to really get results and only L-Ascorbic Acid is 100% bio available to the skin. Dont waste your time and money on other cheap vitamin c products get the real deal!!! VivierSkin is only sold through physicians however it is availabe at dermstore.com!
Hello everyone,
I have to extensive research on Vitamin C, how it helps to immediately brighten your skin and help with anti-aging. I use the Sesderma product line, and you can come have a Vit. C customized facial at my spa. www.kristenspa.com
I am sorry- typo: I have DONE extensive research on vitamin C is what I meant to say! My spa is located in Roswell, GA and you’ll receive 20% off on your first treatment. I have background experience working for a dermotologist and plastic surgeon.
I have been using Nutrimin C RE9 products from Arbonne international. I have been using the line for about 4 months and see a tremendous difference in my skin. I love the product so much I became a consultant. Check out my website www.skinguru.myarbonne.com for more info.
My wife is an esthetician. She believes strongly in Vitamin C. Many of her facials she does also includes some sort of enzyme with Vitamin C. I think, but am not positive is the Pumpkin Peel Facial.
This is a great article that stresses the importance that great skin depends on not only what you apply topically to your skin but also what you ingest in your diet. In the beauty industry, the benefits of Vitamin C have been long recognized.
At www.beautystat.com, members have noticed significant benefits by using Skinceutical products for reducing uneven skin tone and increasing skin radiance and vibrancy. Check out what products are right for you at www.beautystat.com

Monica, the Smartskincare.com article is a great find! There is another article that covers the Vit.C combo
making the best of skincare - www.smartskincare.com/treatments/topical/anhydrous_vitc_combo.html.
A renowned Australian doctor patented a micro-particle Delivery System of Vi.C L-ascorbic acid building collagen On-site. He has both water soluble and oil-soluble (anhydrous) Vit.C products under his line www.Ultraceuticals.com.
While ingesting Vit.C is great for our overall health, that Vitamin C does not affect directly the skin because it gets used up early on for key bodily functions. Thus, topical application on the site where one needs to build collagen is most effective.
I support this claim.
I also proved that in one of my research
Vitamin C is not the only vitamin recommended for vitiligo patients.
Dr. Pearl Grimes, one of the scientists working to find a cure for this skin disorder, says that based on clinical trials she recommends her vitiligo patients the following vitamins:
* vitamin E
* Vitamin C
* coenzyme Q10
* folic acid
* vitamin B12
* a high potency multivitamin
* alpha lipoic acid
